Debre Markos University’s vision is to become a leading teaching and research university in Ethiopia and the region and to promote research excellence. Promoting research excellence in knowledge nurturing, dissemination, and utilization of advanced scientific knowledge and thereby accomplishing the vision of the University requires putting in place platforms for knowledge dissemination. One option to disseminate the cultivated knowledge is using academic journals owned by the university itself (university journals). The University Journals offers an alternative to the current journal ecosystem (commercial journals). The University journals platform is owned by the university and offers Open Access (OA) journal publications to researchers.
